philosophy: life is a classroom. we are both student and teacher. each day is a test. and each day we receive a passing or failing grade in one particular subject: grace. grace is compassion, gratitude, surrender, faith, forgiveness, good manners, reverence, and the list goes on. it’s something money can’t buy and credentials rarely produce. being the smartest, the prettiest, the most talented, the richest, or even the poorest, can’t help.

philosophy: 2 1/4 c. flour, 2 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter, 2 1/2 c. brown sugar, 3 eggs, 1 1/2 tsp. madagascar pure vanilla, 3 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate- melted, 3/4 c. sour cream, 1 c. boiling water. sift together dry ingredients- set aside. in large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until combined. add eggs one at a time. beat in vanilla and chocolate. mix in sour cream and dry ingredients until combined. stir in boiling water. bake in greased pan. Delicious!

philosophy: 1/3 c. gum base, 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 2 tbsp. corn syrup, 1 tsp. glycerin, 1/4 tsp. citric acid, 6 drops bubble gum flavoring, 4 drops red food coloring. place gum base in dish and microwave for 1 min. remove and stir. repeat until gooey. add flavoring and food color and stir well. set aside 1 tbsp. powdered sugar. on work surface, make a well in the middle of 1/4 c. of powdered sugar. pour melted gum base mixture into well. knead the gum base and sugar.
