Applying Eyeshadow Tips – Easy Ways To Get Beautiful Eyes

The right shades of eyeshadow can definitely make your eyes more attractive. I love experimenting with eyeshadow, and the big color palettes are wonderful for adding variety to my beauty collection. You would be surprised to find the many color combinations that will look really good on you.  The following are some applying eyeshadow tips, great ways to get beautiful eyes.

By simply playing in your makeup box, you can freshen an old look, and maybe even get a more glamorous face with some simple contouring and shading tips.

Many women also like to experiment with new bright bold colors in shadows, and from glitter to accenting shades, you can create a variety of different effects easily, and will a little know how.

Spend some time with your color palette, and experiment with colors that you find attractive. Some tips with color, brown eyes look spectacular with purple eyeshadows, green eyes pop with gold shadow, blue eyes look amazing with most any shade of blue shadow, and hazel eyes get more bold with green or khaki colored shadows.

To keep your eye shadow in place, especially if you are using a creme eyeshadow, use a primer. I like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. Before applying your eyeshadow, simply apply the primer as instructed over the lids and up to the browbone. This will keep your shadow in place, and keep it from smearing.

If you are looking for subtle color, go with neutral shadows like tan, pale pink, or gray. Apply neutral shades with an eyeshadow wand to the area just under the brow line, and over your lid. To play up your eyes try experimenting with darker or deeper colors to compliment these colors. Use these colors to contour the areas just over the lid in the crease and the area above up to the lightest shadow area, and along the corners of your eyes from the inner corner up to the brow.

Another trick that I like to use when I want more color is to line my upper lids with a thick eyeliner pencil, and go over the lid area with the darkest most dramatic color of shadow. This is a good makeup tip for when you are going out at night. Be sure to smudge and blend the color so that it looks better, and you don’t get that “made up” look.

Whenever you are applying eye shadow, you will want to blend for the best look. I use a larger makeup brush to blend eyeshadow with a light dusting. Finally, use a good mascara to play up your lashes, and give you look some balance.

What To Do Before Applying Makeup

There are a couple of steps that you need to take before you apply your makeup.  Your skin is sensitive, and care should be taken to enhance the beauty of your face.  Don’t just go through the motions of putting your your cosmetics every morning.  Make it a regular beauty ritual, and get to know the contours and features of your skin.  Your skin will be glowing and radiant when you take time to create a natural look.

Before you dive into your cosmetics bag, take a look at your face.  Do an up close and personal analysis, and look for subtle changes like freckles, moles, acne, or just simply dry skin.  You will want to work with your imperfections, and resolve to cover them with the best skin care treatments possible.  A good makeup mirror is best for viewing your face, I like the ones that are magnified.

Cleanse The Face Thoroughly

Always wash your face before you apply makeup.  This prepares the skin for the makeup, and removing dirt and oil is essential to keep your skin clear and radiant.  A good cleansing lotion, or moisturizing bar of facial soap will do the trick.  Some good brands include pHisoderm pH Anti-Blemish Gel Facial Wash, Burt’s Bees Facial Cleanser, and Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser.  These deep cleansing treatments will leave you feeling refreshed, while preparing your face for makeup.

Remember to choose a facial cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type.  Gently massage your cheeks, forehead, chin, nose, and the area around your mouth.  Be careful not to get any soap in your eyes.  Apply the cleanser right back to your hair line, and follow the instructions on the product.  Rinse your face clean, and then apply a good toner.

Try A Good Facial Toner

Some really effective facial toners include Clinique Clarifying Lotion, Burt’s Bees Rosewater and Glycerin Toner, and Dermalogica Multi Active Toner.

Skin toners are wonderful for shrinking your pores, and they also tend to freshen your face by tightening your skin.  There are lots of ways to apply a toner.  My favorite method is just to use cotton balls.  Simply apply a little facial toner to the cotton ball, and trace along your face, again avoiding the eyes, until you have spread the solution across your face.  You will want to rinse the solution off with warm water, following the instructions on the product.

Moisturize

Being over 40, I like to apply a light moisturizer before putting on my makeup.  It keeps my skin fresh looking especially if I want to wear a matte foundation or powder.  It’s also good for dinishing fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.  Moisturizers are good for adding that extra dewy look to your skin, and it also creates a barrier that keeps moisture in.  Some excellent moisturizers that won’t dull your foundation include Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, Bare Escentuals RareMinerals Purely Nourishing Facial Moisturizer, and DML Daily Facial Moisturizer.

It may take additional time to prepare your face for makeup each morning, but it will give you that extra radiance, and spark to start your day on a beautiful note.

Frizzy hair can be such a pain when all you really want to do is have sleek bouncy hair that shines.  I know the feeling well because I have really long, fine curly hair.  Not just the kind that curls slightly, but those springy, coiled curls.

For the longest time, it seemed like no matter how much conditioner I used, the minute I would walk outside into the summertime heat and humidity, my hair would turn into a giant afro puff with no sheen or shine.  Even when it rained, I got the same results, dry and frizzy hair.  Not fun at all.

Infusium 23 is simple to use.  I generally will wash and condition my hair first, and then while it is wet, I comb this solution through my hair.  I don’t usually blow dry my hair, as I really do not like too apply to much heat.  Every few minutes, I run my fingers through the strands so that the natural curls will separate and my hair dries faster.  This conditioner works instantly, and it generally ranges anywhere from $4 to $6 in stores.

When I was a kid, and even now too I braid my hair to keep it from getting tangled and matted.  When I am running low on a deep conditioner, it’s a simple trick that I use to keep my hair manageable.  With the right deep conditioners, and a little know how, you too can keep frizz at bay.
